Apply to Become a Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in becoming an Attention Homes volunteer. Prospective volunteers must complete the following steps.

  1. Complete a volunteer application. Please fill it out and return it to the contact information below.
  2. Set up an interview appointment. The interview helps Attention Homes match your skills and wants with our organizational volunteer opportunities.
  3. Attend a one hour volunteer orientation.
  4. Volunteers working directly with youth are required to be 21 years of age or older when working in our residential or overnight emergency shelter program. Street Outreach and the Runaway and Homeless Youth Drop-in Center volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. All direct care volunteers attend a 2.5 hour training and must complete all required background checks. Although background checks are at the volunteer's expense, a portion is returned after a 3 month volunteer period.
